MASSETER / JAW SLIMMING & TEETH GRINDING

The masseters are the powerful chewing muscles located at the angles of the jaw. In some individuals, these muscles become enlarged through chronic teeth grinding (bruxism), jaw clenching, stress, or habitual overuse.

 

This can lead to symptoms such as jaw pain, facial muscle fatigue, tension headaches, tenderness around the jaw joints, worn or cracked teeth, and discomfort on waking. Enlarged masseter muscles can also create a broad, square, or heavy lower face, even in individuals with an otherwise slim facial structure.
